Dr. Ioannis Brigkos holds a doctorate in history from the University of Vienna and works with the University of Vienna and the Austrian Academy of Sciences.

His research focuses on the diplomatic, political and military relations of small states, particularly in relation to Modern Greek history, Cold War politics, transnational networks, pericentrism, New Diplomatic History and New Military History.

His scholarly work brings together archival research, transnational perspectives and contemporary historical analysis across Greece, Austria and wider European contexts.
